ROBERT CRAIG 1825-1886,
thankyou very much for including my gr gr grandfather in the roll of honour. Seeing it in print is so wonderful and has given the family a sense of pride and respect for the people that protect our wellbeing.
I have since travelled to greenock and glasgow and sandbank in dunoon, retracing the family tree, we had a great time in scotland and cannot wait to return....watch this space

Webmaster's reply : You must visit the Memorial at Tulliallan when you get back here, I'm sure you would like it. If I can be any help, send me a message via this site when you are coming.

My Great Great Grandfather Henry Alexander Hamilton was a Policeman in the late 1800s and was married to Annie Hamilton. Not sure if they lived in Glasgow Or Edinburgh but I know when my Great Grandfather Henry Alexander Hamilton got married in Leith in 1903 his father was deceased. He must have died quite young as my great grandfather was 22 when he married so that would have made him around mid 40s. Would anyone be able to recognise the name and maybe give me a bit more information. Much appreciated. Lorna

I've just returned from another dignified and extremely well organised memorial service at the SPC to honour and remember good friends and colleagues from West Lothian Traffic Department.
My thanks to the organisers for their dedication in providing this opportunity.

I am a retired Police Officer and I have seen many friends die over the years whilst doing their duty.

I think its time to thank those who created this trust and make this website available for all to view.

I am humbled by the acts of our police officers who risk their lives daily, often with no thanks or reward, more often the opposite is true and they receive unwarranted abuse and slander.

It brings to mind a poem i discovered on an US sight Tears of a Cop trying to make people aware of PTSD in American law enforcement. called.
I have been where you fear to go..

More should be done to remember those officers who gave their lives in the execution of their duties.
