Congratulations on your Mission in Establishing a Memorial to your fallen colleagues. At the moment I am in the process of lobbying to have a similar Memorial erected in the Republic of Ireland. You have been here! Your fruition will help carry me on. As a survivor.... WELL DONE!

Good luck with the memorial. My father Sgt Harry Lawrie BEM was killed during a mountain rescue in 1987. Have followed in his footsteps and am a serving officer with Central Scotland Police. Such a tribute is long overdue. Once again good luck.

Thank you for enlightening myself and family regarding the planned Memorial. Our father was killed on duty in 1960 in Edinburgh and its very comforting to know that he along with other officers will be remembered this way. Keep up the good work.

The proposed memorial will be a lasting tribute to the gallantry and dedicated service of those Scottish Officers who fell in the line of duty.Remembered with pride by their colleagues in the Royal Ulster Constabulary G.C and those still serving in the Police Service of Northern Ireland.

My husband [Colin MacDuff - died 1973]is included in the memorial and I am pleased to see that he and all the others who died while on duty will not be forgotten. I think it will be a very fitting tribute.

I found out about the Trust when I read The Evening Times it is an excellent idea. I joined The City of Glasgow Police in 1971 and I am still there is this the same list of officers that is in the book that sits in the foyer at Pitt st HQ?

Having served for 30 years in the British Police I am fully in agreement with the Trust. I was a Constable in the Lanarkshire Constabulary Nov 1970 and transferred to West Yorks police in 1979 and I was friendly with Constable George Taylor Murdered on duty at Carstairs 1976. Having transferred to West Yorks and new other police who were murdered over the Border. I have just recently had an article published in the Scottish Genealogy Society Journal for Sept 2003 about Inverness born Det Insp Sandy Fraser West Riding Constabulary murdered with a pc outside Huddersfield in July 1951. He is buried in Tomnahurich Cemetery Inverness . His former Cameron Highlanders pipers were at his funeral in Inverness.
We Must Remember them
