PC Dunsmuir was assisting in the policing of an Orange Walk.

He was waiting in a lane off Blythswood Square with colleagues when he took ill and subsequently died of heart failure.

PC Rooke died in a collision when his police van lost control in icy conditions at RAF Edzell.

PC MacDuff died when he drowned after entering the River Clyde at Custom House Quay to attempt the rescue of a male who had fallen into the water. He was survived by his wife.

PC Peterson died after entering a high-rise building in the Gorbals area in response to a fire. As he evacuated residents from upper floors he was overcome by smoke.

PC McHardy died when his police vehicle was involved in a collision on the Aberdeen to Stonehaven road when a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction lost control crossed the carriageway and struck the police vehicle head on.

PC Sinclair died when his police vehicle was involved in a collision on the Aberdeen to Stonehaven road when a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction lost control crossed the carriageway and struck the police vehicle head on.

PC Barnett died from gunshot wounds received on 30 December 1969. He and other officers became suspicious of a man who unknown to them had carried out a bank robbery on the outskirts of Glasgow. As he carried the proceeds into his home he was challenged by the officers who knew him as a former colleague. He invited them into his home where he produced a handgun and shot them. Posthumously awarded the Queens Police Medal for Gallantry.

ADC MacKenzie died from gunshot woulds after he and other officers became suspicious of a man who unknown to them had carried out a bank robbery on the outskirts of Glasgow. SC Gates died when he was assaulted by three known criminals who were in possesion of stolen property. Having alerted colleagues he followed the men who knew him to be a Special Constable. He was subsequently ambushed and savagely beaten.

DS Lumsden was a member of the force Sub-Aqua Unit he was searching the Caledonian Canal at Corpach for a missing youth when he?became trapped in a sluice at the bottom of a lock gate and was drowned.
