SC Storrar died whilst attempting to secure a drifting mine on the beach at West Wemyss. As he attempted to stop the mine approaching the town it exploded killing him and those assisting him.

ACC Thomson was shot by a drunken sentry during an air raid black-out when he was called out during the hours of darkness. He was survived by his wife.

PC McGowan died when he fell into the River Tummel and was drowned.

PC Matthew died when his pedal cycle was in collision with a motor vehicle in Hilton Drive Aberdeen as he cycled home from duty. He was survived by his wife and young family.

PC McQuilkin died after his motorcycle struck a wall in Glasgow Street Ardrossan as he responded to an RTC in Shore Road. He was transported to the Victoria Infirmary in Glasgow where he died of his injuries.

PC MacKintosh Died after coming off his motorcycle whilst travelling to police the Perth races. Witnesses who found him told of a stray bullock on the roadway and it was surmised it had caused him to swerve and crash.

PC Burr died after being knocked down by a taxi cab. A contemporary newspaper report states his cape was blown over his head in a gale causing him to lose his footing and step into the road.

PS Maclean died after the motor lorry he had reportedly commandeered to chase a robbery suspect collided with a tram injuring 8 people. He was seriously injured and died later in hospital.
