It was good to find the memorial for your collegues present and past. I was hoping to find my Gr Gr Grandfather Robert Craig.Robert was born in Derry ,Ireland c 1825. He is on the 1851 census as a Police Officer,living in Greenock west,married to Agnes with 4 children.His death cert 7/4/1886 and 18/04/1886,states He was a Police Sergeant and was found dead whilst on duty in the Police Box,Custom House Quay,Greenock. please let me know if you have any info archived.Best reagdrs Maureen Hoyland

Never forgotten the family of Ross Hunt who was murdered on the 5th June 1983. As a witness to this crime it has haunted me every day and I have never forgotten the sons pain which was clear to see in court.

Lachlan McKinnon was killed on 1 January 1869. He was stabbed to death by a criminal he was trying to arrest.

My sincerest condolences to the families, friends, and fellow officers of all your lost brothers and sisters. I recently attended the first police funeral for an officer from my force in my career...it was awful. I still want to cry when I think about the way he was killed (he was dragged when he attempted to arrest a thief who was in a vehicle). Rest easy, lost ones..miss you
