PC Garrott died when overhead cables arced and electrocuted him whilst in pursuit of suspect persons on railway property in Paisley.

PC Bennie died after collapsing outside the local Ambulance Depot. He was conveyed to hospital but was found to be dead. He was survived by his wife and daughter.

PC Cumming collapsed and died at the scene of a RTC.

PS Hughes Died when his vehice was involved in a collision whilst on his way to take up duty. His wife who was in the vehicle also died. They were survived by their three children.

PC Hogg died whilst conducting road checks with the Department of Transport on the A74. His police vehicle was struck by a lorry and thrown into the path of an oncoming vehicle near to Johnstonebridge.

PC Barrie died when his motorcycle was involved in a collision on his way to take up duty.

DS Caskie died whilst serving with the Scottish Crime Squad. His unmarked police vehicle was struck by a taxi performing a U-turn in his path in the east end of Glasgow.

DS Mollison died when his car was involved in a collision whilst on his way home from duty.

PS Gordon died whilst carrying out road checks in Market Street Aberdeen. He was struck by a drunk driver who failed to stop for a police signal.

PC Taylor died after he was brutaly attacked by two males who had escaped from the State Mental Hospital Carstairs disguised as Prison Officers. He was survived by his wife and their four children the youngest of which was 11 months old.

CI Cringles collapsed and died whilst dealing with a disturbance in the street outside his home. He was survived by his wife.

CS Chalmers collapsed and died at the opening of a new police station.

PC Dunsmuir was assisting in the policing of an `Orange walk` and was waiting with other officers in Bath Lane at Douglas Street when he became unwell. Despite the best efforts of his colleagues, he subsequently died of a heart attack.

PC Rooke died in a collision when his police van lost control in icy conditions at RAF Edzell.

PC MacDuff died when he drowned after entering the River Clyde at Custom House Quay to attempt the rescue of a male who had fallen into the water. He was survived by his wife.

PC Peterson died after entering a high-rise building in the Gorbals area in response to a fire. As he evacuated residents from upper floors he was overcome by smoke.

PC Sinclair died after his police vehicle was involved in a collision on the Aberdeen to Stonehaven road when a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction lost control crossed the carriageway and struck the police vehicle head on.
