PC Ferrier died when his police vehicle skidded and overturned in Edinburgh.

Admiralty Constabulary
PC Ramage collapsed and died in the police office at the main gate of the Naval Supplies Depot Lathalmond Dunfermline.
Constable Stewart Cameron MACDONALD (21)
City of Glasgow Police
PC MacDonald was struck by a train on the railway line near Yoker Ferry Road as he searched for suspects on a foggy night.
Constable William CHEYNE (47)
Aberdeen City Police
PC Cheyne was on duty at the police garage when he became unwell. He was sent home where he died soon after.
He had 25 years police service and was survived by his wife.
Constable John SHARP (47)
LMS Railway Police
PC John SHARP was found at Alloa railway station on the tracks with multiple injuries injuries. He was presumed to have been struck by a passing train `in the course of his duties.`
Constable Alexander CHRISTIE (36)
Perthshire and Kinross-shire Constabulary
PC Christie died when his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a motor lorry at Kinross.

London, Midland & Scotland Railway Police
PC Church was struck and run down by the engine of a railway train in the course of his employment at Gourock Railway Station. He was survived by his wife.

PI Walker died after being struck by a drunk driver during the black out.
Special Constable Andrew PERRIE (47)
Inverness Burgh Police
SC Perrie collapsed and died after returning to the police station having assisted colleagues at a large disturbance of soldiers in Inverness.
Police Constable Thomas HUTCHISON (39)
Roxburghshire Constabulary
Constable Hutchison died after his motorcycle was struck by a military lorry at Roxburgh Street, Kelso. He was 39 years old and was survived by his wife.
Sergeant William King MCDONALD (36)
Renfrewshire Constabulary
PS McDonald died when his car was in collision with another vehicle at the junction of Clippens Road and Bridge of Weir Road Linwood as he retruned to Johnstone from the Police ARP stores. He was survived by his wife and child.

PC Shepherd died when his motorcycle was involved in a collision at Gairloch Road Rhu.
Special Constable David THOMSON (53)
Fife Constabulary
SC David Thomson was directing traffic at Cross Road, Strathmiglo during the black-out when he was struck by a motor vehicle, and died of head injuries.

Dundee City Police
Died whilst attending a report of a suspicious object at Broughty Ferry. This would appear to have been an item of ordnance which exploded causing catastrophic injuries to PC Stirrat.
